Canungra Emergency Research & Educational Facilities
CEREF – This facility is designed to prepare people for a job in emergency service, including roles in the resource industries. It provides the students with real-life emergency type experiences that will enhance their skills as first responder and increase their employability, especially for young professionals and those who want to break into the emergency response field. The facility provides a gold star example of a building that is both resilient to bushfire and offers sustainable living. The result of technology advancement will aid in the speedy recovery of victims locally and internationally or in a disaster zone.
Fire Locational Environment, Topographical Satellite
FLETS – Australia’s environmental conditions make it one of the most fire-prone countries in the world, and a large percentage of the population reside or work in high-risk areas. During my deployment in Queensland and New South Wales, I have encountered challenges in regards to the delay of real-time critical information. At times we have little or no communications, delayed Weather information, and fire activity. 2019-2020 fire season resulted in the loss of 33 lives, the destruction of over 3000 homes, and the loss of a billion animals. (4 February 2020 Prime Minister Scott Morrison confirmed in a speech to Parliament (1) and from the Royal Commission (2)).
Tactical Assistance Response Program
TARP – also has qualified personnel who can respond to any natural disaster, such as earthquake, flooding and cyclones, ready to respond in Australia and worldwide. The organisations aim to use the latest technology to provide additional assistance to the existing local or state emergency services personnel so that more people can be rescued and more lives can be saved. TARP service can be activated within 12 hours of notice
AI Technology
Practical testing has been conducted and they are now in the process of integrating each one of the required subsystems and components for the autonomous drone targeting detection.
They are now working on getting the system working in a controlled real-world setup to test the components before conducting any trials outdoors and in cluttered environments.
